Okay so you buy your regular groceries cheap at Aldi or use coupons at Publix or Kroger.
Now it’s time to save on meat. Here are 3 tips from ZombieMommy to help you save the money honey!
1)Buy half a cow. Yes you can get good deals on grass fed beef this way. There is a processor about 40 miles from here that offers half sides of a cow for about $4.00 a pound. You can’t beat that price for grass fed. This doesn’t work unless you own or have access to a deep freezer.
2)Shop Sam’s on Wednesdays or early mornings. As I understand it, Sam’s marks down their meats at these times. I prefer the quality of Sam’s meats over some grocery stores.
3)Scour the sales ads. If you buy when certain meats on deep sale you can stock up when the price is right. Sometimes you can get a fresh chicken breasts for under $2.00 a pound. This would be the perfect time to buy 20lbs and fill up the freezer you bought because of point one. Another way to save is to buy bone in meats, such as whole chickens. You can get 3 meals out of one chicken. Meal 1-Roasted, Meal 2-Leftovers into Stir fry or Burritos, Meal 3-Cook carcass in crockpot and make broth-use to make a soup!
