5 Things NOT to Buy at Aldi

Zombiemommysaves Loves AldiI love Aldi. I save serious time and money by shopping there. But I have learned that there a few things that aren’t worth the value.

The great news is that Aldi has a double guarantee. You get your money refunded and a new product!

1) Diapers. These are good for daytime use, but not overnight.
Price $5.49 for a jumbo pack. After 2 accidents involving multiple paper towels, disinfectant and some extra laundry, mama is done.

2) Garbage Bags. They feel thick, they look thick, but mama they ain’t thick. My can stinks.
Price $4.49 for 80.

3) Alfredo Sauce.
Price $1.99.

4) Eggnog. But don’t make your own from scratch either using Alton’s Brown Raw Version. I am just saying. Don’t.
Price $1.99.

5) Pork loin. Now I know that Aldi hams are Smithfield hams are of GREAT value, but I am not sure where these come from. The solution is too metallic tasting.
Price $5.49 (ranges).

  1. You’re right on track, ZM. When you’re shopping at Aldi, ya gotta know the territory. And like you say – gotta love the double guarantee!

Can’t speak about the nappies – haven’t had to buy any for about 5 years now – thank goodness. Blow-outs are behind me…

Garbage bags – I’ve had good luck with the white kitchen bags – I don’t use the big, black ones.

Agree on the ‘Fredo – I’ve been able to salvage it with a couple of tablespoons of grated parm and butter, but what’s the point? I just get it elsewhere when I get it at all.

    Eggnog – never.

Pork loin – again, why bother? That’s what the butcher’s for.

Love the blog – see ya ’round!

It is true most things are good deals just not every single thing. The bananas, oats, tuna, tortillas are great deals. Thanks for stopping by.
