I think my daughter hugged the cow about 13 times. Seriously. “That’s enough cow love”, my husband joked.
Its Cow Appreciation day on Friday. I love Chick fil A. I mean seriously how much money do they lose every year on this giveaway?
If you dress like a cow from head to toe, you get a free meal.
If you just wear a partial costume, you get a sandwich. Pretty cool huh!
My children feel its torture when they are under 4 years old. My wallet says too bad little ones!
Here is a link to print out a full costume. Helpful hint, cut out the pieces ahead of time and just bring a roll of scotch tape.
Then right before you walk in after everyone gets out of their carseats tape them up!
And if you want to be real frugal print it in black and white and save the bits for next year (hint remove the costume before you eat because mayo drips attract bugs.:)
Its that time of year again. Free food! I have heard of some people hitting several Chick Fil A’s in one day to maximize the blows to their self esteem but minimize ones to the wallet.
Its a free meal if you dress ‘head to hoof’. If you just tape on some ears you get a sandwich.
Mark your calendars. July 8th….
Here is my post from 2 years ago. I even dressed up the little girl.

First off, hats off to my dear husband for humoring me for free food! I know he was hesitant as we were scrambling to dress up 10 minutes before walking out the door. The Chick Fil A Website had a printable costume kit with ears, a nose, spots and a tail.
If you dressed up from head to tail in cow gear you got a full meal. If you only halfway dressed up you got a free entree.
The kids of course got dressed up fully because they were forced too. My 4 year old was totally into it. My 2 year was not.
He cried and cried as I tried taping stuff to his white outfit. The boys did not nap well today…again. So tears were sure to arrive from someone. It was the 2 year old’s turn.
When we arrived at Chick Fil A we were a little nervous, no one else inside looked dressed up from our view from the parking lot. My husband asked if I could go in first (yes he was a bit dubious).
As we got inside we still felt a bit awkward. I asked the cashier “Would you agree the 3 kids are dressed up from head to toe? ” “Yes”, she answered.
“Good” I jokingly said, “because we had to beat into submission the youngest boy to wear this”. He tears finally stopped as I pulled his cow-ear-taped-to-baseball cap off.
I wore a polka dot (kinda cow looking) black and white head bandanna and my husband wore an “Eat More Chicken” sign for 2 entire seconds.
Of course after we sat down tons of people dressed up came in. In fact, if you were odd looking if you were not dressed up at that point. We had a great time and as we finished up our outing in the playground, the big Cow himself came out to MOOOVEE crowds.
Wheee, I will probably just buy a drink or some fries! UPDATE. There were no FREE biscuits per se, they were just a coupon for the next visit. I think of lot of us in the bloggerworld didn’t catch that part initially.
We went earlier this year at the beginning of football season and scored free nuggets for dressing up in a football clothes.
I even put a hat on the baby!
Thanks to Southern Savers for the hat tip, I am really starting to like her blog.
She is up my alley when it comes to getting good deals consistently!
