First Time Shopping at Aldi?

Aldi is just plain awesome. I had to cut back on couponing when we had #4 and Aldi really picked up my slack.

I find Aldi to be a clean shopping experience and a store that I can get in and out of quite quickly (which is super important with big families). Also I find Aldi’s prices to be about the same as I would get on items WITH A COUPON and a sale.  Trust me, I am nearly the cheapest lady on the planet (insert sound of two pennies rubbing together).

1)Bring a quarter, Aldi saves money by you renting (you get the quarter back when put the cart back in the lane) the cart and packing up your own groceries. Aldi stores are run with only 2-4 crew persons per shift, German efficiency!

2)You also have to buy your own bag or be cheap and bring your own. The bags are 6 cents each and 10 cents for the reusable ones.

3)Try it! Most Aldi products are name brand national products with their label on it, so they are the real deal just not the real price. And they have a double back guarantee! If you don’t like it they will replace the product and give you your money back!

Still scared, check out my short list of  what not to buy at Aldi.

  1. I totally agree – Aldis is awesome! Like you said, one of my favorite things is that you can get in and out so quickly. And I actually like having less choices! Shopping is so much easier when there is just one type of ketchup, for instance, instead of 10 different brands in slightly different sizes. I always keep a quarter in my car and my cloth bags in the trunk so I’m ready for Aldi’s at any time :)
